Nick Hundley to return Wednesday ...
Found out late last night that catcher Nick Hundley, who hasn't played a game since June 17 because of a small fracture of the ulna bone near his left wrist, will join the Padres later today here in Milwaukee.
Hundley played for Triple-A Portland on Tuesday in Albuquerque and went 4-for-16 in five rehab games with the Beavers. He could play as soon as today, though it will more likely be Thursday when he'll catch Cesar Carrillo, who will be making his Major League debut.
Hundley was hitting .236 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 41 games before the injury. I assume the corresponding roster move will be to send catcher Eliezer Alfonzo to Portland with Hundley sharing time with veteran Henry Blanco.
As always, we'll have all your Padres news at Padres.com later today from Milwaukee. And remember, the place to check for breaking Padres news is at twitter.com/followthepadres.
Cheers, Corey Brock

really? Blanco and Alfonso have done a great job helping out the pitching staff. they're both experienced and they know what you should do to win a game..Hundley is still young, he should remain on the bench for the rest of the year maybe getting a start or two on get away days only!! not fair to send Alfonso away, he doesn't deserve it!! Just my thoughts!

Hundley has a better bat then both Blanco and Alfonso and has a good arm as well. The Padres have more of a future with Hundley then with either Blanco and Alfonso as well.

I love Nick but I did not miss the amount of balls he drops....I hope he improves on that. Nice to get him back though!

People fall in love with players way too easily. Alfonso was hitting under .200, and probably would have been sent down earlier if we had another decent catcher in the organization. Maybe they'll teach Alfonso how to slide. Glad to have Hundley back, and Blanco is a great defensive catcher.
