Chase Headley on video …
Headley comes to Spring Training this year with a lot less on his plate than a year ago when he was still learning a new position (converting from third base to left field) as well as trying to make the Major League Opening Day roster (that didn’t happen, but only because the brass decided he needed more seasoning in the outfield.
After a slow start in Portland, Headley got hot at the plate and was promoted to the big club in June. He hit .269 with nine home runs and 38 RBI’s. He also had 104 strikeouts, which surely is something he wants to cut down on (he talks about that in the video).
“I know that going forward I’m going to get better,” Headley said.
So look for that story tomorrow.
